I often call ĐCT's meals 'Rice 304'.

Besides the hidden favors that ĐCT gives me, and the hard work of the family members who cook, another reason is that the rice is served in 304 trays that are usually eaten with household members; after eating they are washed once and returned to the kitchen.

In Hanoi, it can sometimes be a bit inconvenient to return the meal trays (e.g., sometimes because you cannot get to the drop-off point to return them, creating a shortage of trays for the next day; sometimes people are reluctant to ship them back, etc.), but being able to practice a take-and-return style of eating helps a lot in cultivating the habit of not having to use plastic.

Clearly: washing one tray is easier than producing one tray. Not to mention, for people who sort their waste, whether they use trays or plastic containers, don't they still have to clean them before sending them to sorting/collection centers?)

The photo shows leftovers from Saturday's meal. Sometimes there are leftovers like that, so the household shares them with me to take home and store in the fridge. The next day I take them to work and eat them for lunch. Sometimes a colleague sees it and asks what this dish is; I'm very happy to be able to say: "Rice from the countryside, my parents cooked it for my siblings and me!"
