I usually drop 2-3 of these plastic bags at once into my car trunk to reuse them 3 or 4 more times when I go to the market to buy strong-smelling items such as fish or fresh meat.

But I often have to use them when I go with someone who doesn't like or doesn't want to sort garbage. Sometimes I feel weighed down, inconvenienced, labeled a "waste of time" and comically burdened with cumbersome belongings. Occasionally, after sorting waste where we live, when people see a pile of trash like that in the house (even though it has been cleaned) they take my cleaned and sorted pile and throw it away at the dump. The feeling then is always: I want to go to NTĐ so badly!

What makes me quite sad is that in my city, Hanoi, there is only one place that actually collects and sorts waste. Other places are disguised as businesses, but in reality they don't sort; they only accept waste that can be sold. I also feel I don't have enough courage to stand up and address it. I feel I lack the patience for debates, for handling things and becoming tied to an entire project, and I'm afraid of wasting time if I devote too much time to it and happen to forget other important things. Even just sorting my own trash already makes me feel cumbersome in everyday interactions with others.

In any case, however it goes, I will still sort as much as I can. I still use plastic bags, but I don't buy new ones or take them from stores; I put my cleaned trash into my backpack and at some point I'll go by a sorting station.
