I tried walking short distances with a friend to take part in the campaign. Normally, even a short distance would make me take the bus or tram right away, but today we deliberately set aside time to walk. At first I honestly felt a bit reluctant, but once I started walking I found it better than expected and my mood gradually improved.

As I walked, I was able to slowly look around the surroundings and noticed things I usually miss when I'm in a hurry. The weather was nice, and walking in the sunlight felt really pleasant; the breeze was cool, so I felt refreshed the whole time. Especially when I walked without earphones, I could naturally hear the surrounding sounds, which made me feel more relaxed.

Also, walking helped me sort out various thoughts, which was nice. Usually I spend travel time looking at my phone, but today doing nothing and just walking became a small healing time for me. Moving my body made me feel like I was getting light exercise, so I thought it would be good for my health as well.

What I felt from participating in this campaign is that although short distances are perfectly walkable, I had been relying on convenient options too much. I realized that with a small change of mindset I can help the environment and positively affect my health. It was a small practice but a meaningful experience.

From now on, I will think twice before traveling short distances and try to develop a habit of walking when possible. Even if not every time, on nice days or when I have extra time I will make an effort to walk. I want to practice consistently so that walking can become a pleasant part of my day, like today. I hope this experience leads me to a healthier and more relaxed life.
